PROJECT STATUS
Thank you Seattle. The Pro Parks Levy project at Albert Davis Park is complete and the park is open for use!
The park features two play structures, an open lawn, wave-shaped concrete sculptures, a Will Rogers Memorial, and a plaza connecting 27th Avenue to the community center, library, and 28th Avenue. The lawn has remained fenced in order to allow it to vigorously establish.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
In September 1999, Seattle's City Council approved amendments to Seattle's
Comprehensive Plan for North Neighborhoods, including a recommendation
that Albert Davis Park be redeveloped and improved as part of the
Lake City Civic Core Project. The City and citizens developed ideas
for the Civic Core project in more detail over the next two years,
culminating in the Lake City Civic Center Master Plan. Elements
of the Civic Core project include:
- An addition to the Lake City Branch Library, including space to house the Lake City Neighborhood Service Center (NSC).
- A below-grade parking garage to provide additional parking for the Library, NSC, and Lake City Community Center.
- A public plaza located between the Library addition, the Community Center, and Albert Davis Park.
- A small acquisition of land to the north of the existing Park boundary, to be added to the Park. (The acquisition was completed in 2001. See Acquisition webpage.)
