Features
Each quarter of the year, we offer classes and special events for you and your family. Lesson programs include:tot lessons (6 months to 4 years of age), kinder lessons, youth lessons, youth competitive stroke lessons, adult and senior adult lessons, one-to-one lessons, and springboard diving. Exercise classes include:aqua jogging, hydro-fit exercise, water exercise We also offer:family swim, public swim, and lap swim times. ( RETURN TO

Deep Water Swim TestTo ensure the safety of children and youth using our pools, in order
for swimmers younger than 18 to go into the deep end, Seattle Parks
and Recreation requires a swim test. The test consists of swimming two
widths of the pool. While crawl stroke is preferred, alternate methods
of swimming can be acceptable if the child is swimming with the body
in a prone position and is making good forward progress. For additional
safety, the test may be more stringent if the pool is really crowded.
Final determination is based on the judgment of the lifeguard on duty. ( RETURN

ADVISORY COUNCILThe Southwest Advisory Council invites you and your family to enjoy the recreational activities at the Southwest Recreation Complex, which includes the Southwest Community Center and the Southwest Pool. If you would like to help other like minded citizens with the development and operation of programs, you are invited to join the council. The Council meets the third Thursday of each month at 7 pm. (PDF 6.2M) LOW COST LIFE JACKETS SALE
Southwest Pool will continue to sell life jackets throughout the school year as an extension of the life jacket sale events offered during the summer. Infant, child and youth sizes sell for $20. Teen and Adult S –Adult XXL sizes sell for $30. The jackets will be sold at Southwest Pool only. The person for whom the jacket is being purchased must be present for proper fitting. Contact Aquatic Center Coordinator, Diane Jones, at Diane.Jones@seattle.gov, or via phone, at 206-684-7440, to arrange a time to fit and purchase jackets. |
