Camp Long Day Use Rules

Address: 5200 35th Ave. SW » directions
Phone: 206 684-7434   E-mail: camplong@seattle.gov
Camp Long and other natural places are homes for many plants and animals. Visitors are asked to behave as they would as a guest in anyone's home with respect and consideration.

Camp Long is part of the City of Seattle's park system and is managed as a natural habitat for plants and animals. Naturalists are available to answer questions and to help you in anyway we can.

These Camp Rules have been developed to help provide an enjoyable experience for you and other camp users, to ensure your safety, and to protect the camp's plants and animals.

Thanks for your cooperation.

  • Please handle things gently and return rocks, wood, leaves, etc. to their original places.
  • Please leave all natural things in the park. They are food and shelter for animals.
  • Please park in the parking lot only, not on the grass or along the entrance road. Additional parking may be found along 35th. Avenue. Do not block our neighbor's driveways or walk on their yards.
  • Camp Long is a pedestrian park. Bicycles, motorcycles, and automobiles are not to be taken beyond the parking area.
  • Softball, baseball, archery, golf, and boomerang throwing are prohibited because they are either hazardous to other park users or exclude others from the parade ground.
  • Please stay on established trails.
  • Cutting or picking flowers, trees, or shrubs is not allowed.
  • Please do not feed any wildlife or throw things into the pond.
  • Alcohol is not permitted in the park.
  • Climbing of Schurman Rock and the Glacier are done at climbers own risk. All climbers are to register and sign a waiver at the Lodge. Groups with reservations have priority.
  • Please check at the information desk for gate closure times.
  • Gates will be locked at 5 p.m. unless there are groups in camp that have made advance reservations, in which case they will be locked by 10 p.m.
  • Please pack all garbage to the dumpster in the parking lot; garbage can liners are available from staff. Please separate recyclables and dispose of them in the proper containers which are located next to the dumpster.
  • A pay phone is available for your use just outside the main lodge. The office phone is not for public use.
  • All pets must be on a leash and none are allowed on the Animal Tracks Nature Trail. Please obey the City of Seattles' scoop laws.

Thanks for your help! Have an enjoyable visit.
And come back soon!
