- September 20, 1992, Pearl Jam Concert, estimated attendance: 29,000
(free tickets distributed). Held on Sand Point Fields, off-site parking
at University of Washington.
- 1992 - "Recommended Reuse Alternatives for the Naval Station
Puget Sound, Sand Point" by Seattle Planning Department, included
six conceptual alternatives for the 151-acre Sand Point campus.
- 1993 - Res. 28832, adopted Community Preferred Reuse Plan for Sand
Point.
- September 1995, Naval Station Puget Sound officially closed including
transfer of 90 acres to City of Seattle and University of Washington
- 1996 - Sand Point Reuse Project FEIS, included amendments to Seattle
Comprehensive Plan, creation of Sand Point Overlay (Zoning) District.
- 1997 - Res. 29429, approved Sand Point Physical Development Management
Plan, Res. 29624, adopted "Design Guidelines Manual for Sand
Point / Magnuson Park.
- 1999 - Publication of "Report to the Mayor and Seattle City
Council: Sand Point Blue Ribbon Committee".
- 1999 - Res. 30063, additional guidance on design for Magnuson Park;
and superseding Res. 29429 adopting "The Physical Development
Management Plan for Sand Point".
- 2001 - Res. 30293, additional guidance on design for Magnuson Park,
and amending the Magnuson Park Conceptual Design as approved in Resolution
30063.
- 2004 - Full City Council approval of the wetland and sports fields
master plan.
