Queen Anne Community Center - Electrical Systems and Seismic Upgrade

Current Status


Thank you Seattle, this project is complete.
Queen Anne Community Center experienced a number of maintenance upgrades in 2010. The two primary projects are:

1. Electrical Systems Upgrade.
2. Seismic Upgrade.

The work was completed on time and under budget. The upgrades included substantial seismic improvements to the roof, separating the awning from the school and community center, and some interior structural updates.

Project Description

Budget: $854,000
Electrical work funded through Major Maintenance Electrical Systems Replacement Program.
Seismic Upgrades funded by FEMA grant and Major Maintenance Building Component Renovations.
Construction begins: For Electrical upgrades, the project was implemented in May of 2009, and completed late June of 2009. Seismic Upgrades begin November of 2009.
Project complete:Seismic is scheduled to complete first quarter of 2010.

The electrical system project upgraded the service drop to the building, and provided new electrical gear. Project was completed in June of 2009.

Seismic Upgrades will provide structural reinforcement to the roof, and includes some work to in-fill key wall openings within the gymnasium. The project went out to bid as a public works project, and Advanced Construction, Inc has been awarded the contract.
