ABOUT THE PARK

The park, nearly one acre in size, is located at 32nd Avenue NE near NE 140th Street. Continuing widespread community support and volunteer efforts have been instrumental in developing a neighborhood park with a focus on nature and a children’s play area. Little Brook Creek, a tributary of Thornton Creek, was daylighted and a habitat area was created in the western part of the park in 2004.

Acreage: 0.9

HISTORY

The City bought Little Brook Park in late 1994 with funds from the Regional Conservation Futures Bond Program, which earmarked it a Critical Space.

It earned the nickname "the Last Open Space in Lake City," as hundreds of neighbors signed petitions asking the City to find a way to save the property and the "trees which furnish habitat to songbirds and other wildlife."
