HOURS4 a.m. - 11:30 p.m. ABOUT THE PARKBelvoir Place is a small waterfront park located at 42nd Avenue NE near Surber Drive NE in Laurelhurst. HISTORYThe park was named after the "Belvoir Subdivision" by W.H. "Uncle Joe" Surber, who lived nearby on Webster Point. Surber was a pioneer and a marksman, and he served as the first marshal, sheriff, and police chief of Seattle. Surber owned Seattle's first pile driver, the Excelsior, that worked on Lake Washington. He also built the first trestle for J. M. Colman on Elliott Bay. To learn more about Seattle Parks and Recreation,
