ABOUT THE PARKLake Union Park became a reality on July 1, 2000, when the US
Navy conveyed the ( RETURN TO TOP )
MARITIME HERITAGEMaritime Heritage is an important part of the vision for Lake Union
Park, Visitors will be able to experience and learn about the history
of the Pacific Northwest's maritime world. Boat-building and boat-rentals,
historic vessels, family programs, sailing classes, festivals and more
are all part of the plan. In cooperation with the Center
for Wooden Boats The park's South Lake Union Historic Ships Wharf has been completed
and is home to an increasing number of programs and visiting vessels.

THE NAVAL RESERVE BUILDING(aka "Armory")The Naval Reserve Building, situated at the water's edge is becoming a popular place for parties and community events, as its huge interior can accommodate large groups of up to 1,150.
