Belltown Community Center Operations
Seattle Parks and Recreation is requesting Statements of Interest and Qualifications (SOQ) to interested private and/or non-profit parties for the long-term operation of the Belltown Community Center so that the facility will be a welcoming and culturally vibrant place for community activities and programs, and serve as a catalyst for activating the eastern end of the adjacent Bell Street Park.
Location:
Belltown Community Center: 2235 5th Ave Seattle, WA 98121
Project Schedule:
Parks is currently negotiating a ten (10) year lease for the Community Center space, with an option to renew for an additional five (5) years at Parks’ discretion. Tenant Improvements are being negotiated as part of the lease and are anticipated to be completed by the end of 2011. Parks is anticipating that the facility will be ready and open to the public by January 2012.
Scope of Services:
It is Parks’ intention that the future operator will manage the center consistent with core standards at other Parks community centers, including appropriate hours open for public use, drop-in use, and organized recreational and educational programs.
