The Valerie Sivinski Award for
Outstanding Achievement
in Historic Preservation Rehabilitation Projects
This award acknowledges the restoration or rehabilitation of a property
listed in the State or National Register of Historic Places. Awarded projects
demonstrate the best of preservation practice, meeting or exceeding the
guidelines of the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation,
and contribute significantly to the community at large.

The Pioneer Square Pergola Then. Back in the summer of 2000, the
historic Pioneer Square pergola was a favorite attraction for locals and
visitors.

Heidi Seidelhuber of Seidelhuber Iron Works shows a shattered piece
of cast iron that has been successfully welded back together. The Historic
Preservation Board is very happy that "historical parts" are being salvaged,
rather than re-casting new pieces.

Original Light Post in Restored Pergola. One light / ventilation
post hit by the truck has been welded back together.

Working Bay At Seidelhuber Iron Works. Progress with fabricating
the structural frame at full scale with the proper angles between the
sections is underway as shown here in the working bay at Seidehuber Iron
Works.

Intricate Parts Pieced Together.This wrought iron decorative piece
was in many pieces, but has been welded back together.
