Pro Parks Levy Opportunity Fund First Funding Cycle 2001-2002On July 29, 2002 the Seattle City Council unanimously approved 12 park acquisition projects and 7 development projects to be funded through the $6 million first funding cycle of the $10 million Pro Parks Levy Opportunity Fund. These included new parks in Ballard, Mount Baker and Fremont, and improvements to Flo Ware Park in the Central District, Hitt's Hill Park in Columbia City and Belltown Cottage Park. The Pro Parks Levy Oversight Committee conducted an extensive selection process and unanimously approved its recommended acquisition and development projects on May 14, 2002. The Committee's recommendations were then forwarded by Parks and Recreation Superintendent Ken Bounds and by Mayor Greg Nickels to the City Council.
