The project is out to bid and construction is anticipated to begin mid February 2012. Project elements include seismic retrofitting, mechanical & electrical systems, and interior finishes.

When complete this project will have 2 multi-purpose rooms, 2 ADA compatible restrooms, small food prep area, and storage space. Dakota Place Park building will be operated as an extension of the Hiawatha Community Center for community programming and public rental space.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This community initiated project created a new neighborhood gathering space at the California Substation. The Friends of Dakota Place Park are instrumental in this development.

This phase will complete the renovation of the existing designated landmark City Light Substation Building for use as an extension of the Hiawatha Community Center.
