Phase 2 implements priority elements of the
Judkins Park Plan within the middle area of the Park, generally between
Charles St. to the north and Norman St. to the south. Improvements include:
Two new pedestrian spaces- one overlooking the park with three new picnic
tables; the other just above field level that may be used for small performances
or other gatherings in the future.
Improvements to the various pathways including a much-needed connection
to the northeast and the 23rd and Jackson commercial area.
New park furnishings including picnic tables, benches, and litter receptacles,
A new "full cutoff" pedestrian lighting system with far less glare than
the old system.
Over 65 new trees have also been planted, along with several large new
planting beds.
