SR 520 Replacement Project Washington State is currently planning to replace the State Route 520 Bridge extending from Seattle to the eastside of the county. This corridor is critical to the region and the City of Seattle. The Planning Commission undertook an extensive review of the SR 520 Bridge Replacement Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) providing comments to both Washington State Department of Transportation and the City Council. The Commission will continue to provide independent review and advise to City officials in 2007. The Commission provided City Council with its final thoughts on choosing a preferred alternative. The results of the Planning Commission's extensive review of the SR 520 Bridge Replacement Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) were submitted to the Washington State Department of Transportation on October 31, 2006.
