Here's a look at the Commission's ambitious work program for the year 2001, organized categorically.

Comprehensive Plan
  • review and comment on the annual Comprehensive Plan Amendments process
  • participate in the development of policy docket issues: Green Streets and View Protection
  • provide input on the Transfer of Development Rights program in Seattle
Housing
  • continue to monitor growth targets and housing goals
  • participate in the development of growth target programs and housing levy renewal
  • continue to provide input in housing-related policy and program development
Neighborhood Plan Implementation
  • release the Neighborhood Plan Stewardship Survey
  • sponsor an Assessment of Neighborhood Planning as part of an interdepartmental effort
  • participate in the Neighborhood Plan Implementation Advisory Committee
  • monitor the progress of neighborhood plan implementation at the sector level
Transportation
  • monitor and provide input to the City's Intermediate Capacity Transit program and the Seattle Transit Initiative
  • review and comment on sub-area transportation studies
  • monitor and provide input to the progress of the Elevated Transit Corporation and the Metro 6- Year Plan
  • participate in the Light Rail Review Panel, focusing on station design, alignment and corridor design issues
Community Development
  • coordinate the 5th Avenue NE Street Design Project
  • coordinate work on the Northgate General Development Plan
  • continue to monitor development in the South Lake Union area
  • provide input on the Center City Open Space Strategy and Implementation Plan
