About the East Precinct

LOCATION AND BOUNDARIES OF THE EAST PRECINCT

The East Precinct serves a population of approx. 98,000 and covers eight square miles. The boundaries are Lake Union to I-5 on the west, Lake Washington on the east, the Ship Canal on the north, and I-90 on the south.

On street parking only.

HOURS:

The East Precinct patrol and 9-1-1 response services operate
24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The precinct front desk is open 24 hours.

SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE EAST PRECINCT

The East Precinct provides a full range of emergency response and public safety services under our mission to prevent crime and enforce the law in a manner that makes residents and visitors safer in their homes, schools, businesses and neighborhoods. Precinct personnel respond to 9-1-1 calls for emergency services, they also perform on view police enforcement throughout the precinct and support emphasis in identified areas assigned by their Watch Commander under the oversight of the Precinct Captain.

The East Precinct Community Police and Anti-Crime Teams are specifically assigned to work on solutions to on going and often long standing neighborhood concerns and needs through direct interaction with the community and specialized details.

Capitol Hill, Central Area, First Hill, Judkins Park, Madison Park, Montlake, upper Pike/Pine neighborhood
