SUPPORTING OUR YOUTH

The teen years are often turbulent and unpredictable and the role that police play in a young person’s life can make a huge impact, either positive or negative.  Realizing this, The Seattle Police Department has actively sought out initiatives to help support youth as they grow from children to adults. 

We use a wide variety of strategies that focus on the spectrum, from high achieving youth to those who are struggling with alcohol, drugs, gang involvement, or criminal behaviors.  SPD is committed to finding effective and creative ways to meet the needs of this very important population.
