Probably no other property crime leaves one feeling more vulnerable that Fraud, Forgery or Financial Exploitation. The Detectives that work in this unit have an understanding of how devastating these crimes can be, both financially and emotionally. They investigate a range of crimes including business fraud and identity theft. They are also charge with the investigation of vulnerable adults who are taken advantage of by those who have been charged to help them. The unit is made up of 7 detectives and 1 sergeant. In addition to their investigatory function, they also routinely provide outreach and public education on preventing these types of crimes.
