| Description | A participatory project working with other technology, education, and community leaders to develop a working definition of basic information technology literacy and a set of impact indicators to measure over the time the impact of information technology on the health and vitality of our city or region. The indicators may be broad enough to expose a wide range of effects (jobs, culture, trade, education, health) and reflect positive and negative impacts. The definition and indicators would be developed in phase 1. Phase 2 would collect the first measurements. |
| Vision: | That we are able to see over time what the impacts of information technology are on our whole system of society and have tools to focus efforts in areas that are desired and have positive impacts. |
| Need: | There is a need to understand the influence and directions of information technology and technological systems, both positive and negative, in the Seattle region and to use these indicators to target programs and secure additional resources.. |
