The City of Seattle is working towards building a community where residents can participate more freely in government. Information technology offers new opportunities in the way we communicate with one another, how we work and do business, and otherwise spend our time. Information technology is changing our lives, and Seattle wants to make sure that everyone is included in this technological revolution. City services can now be accessed 24 hours a day. Your input in government activities has never been easier.
- Volunteer
Help us close the digital divide by volunteering some of your time at one of our local community technology centers. Opportunities abound, whether you're interested in being a lab assistant, an instructor, tech support person, or can offer marketing for a center.
- CTTAB
The Citizens Telecommunications and Technology Advisory Board (CTTAB) studies, recommends, conducts hearings, and otherwise facilitates citizen participation in telecommunications and technology decision making.
- Information Age Education Campaign
Inspired by a recognition that the economically disadvantaged and others lack access to the new tools of communication, CTTAB and the City of Seattle created this PowerPoint presentation. It is available free, and provides an overview of new technology. It encourages enrollment in computer basics classes.
