University of Washington

general info | photo gallery | map & directions

'U Dub' is a lively place - especially in spring, when pink and orange flowered azaleas paint the campus in brilliant hues. Burke Museum keeps a good collection of dinosaur skeletons, but its real treasures are its Indian artifacts, especially the collection of cedar canoes and totem poles.

'U Dub,' as most people refer to the university, is one of the top ranked public universities in the nation and famous for its prestigious School of Medicine and National Champion Husky football team. The school's fine-art showspace, Henry Art Gallery, mounts some of Seattle's most intelligent 20th century art exhibits. The University of Washington's beautiful 703 acre campus is located on the shores of the Ship Canal and Lake Washington and is home to over 35,000 students.

Voted as the number one place to watch a football game, University of Washington Husky Stadium, on the shore of Lake Washington, is the home to 72,500 fans, many of whom arrive via the water.
