North/Northeast 45th Street Paving Project
Construction Update: July 24, 2007 N/NE 45 th Street Paving Project– Remaining Minor Work to Resume SDOT’s contractor has completed much of the street work on North and Northeast 45th Street in the Wallingford and University districts. After a pause in construction activity for the past several weeks to allow the contractor to secure special equipment, the remaining work is scheduled to resume next week.
The intersecting streets are:
June 20, 2007 N/NE 45 th Street – Major Construction Complete Minor Work Remains Major construction work, including street paving has been completed. Final pavement markings will be installed this week. Minor work remains, which will includ ing the e installation of traffic signal detector loops for the signal system in the intersecting streets to N/NE 45th. There will be a short pause in activity before this work takes place as the contractor secures specialty equipment needed for the work. This traffic detector installation work is expected to resume in mid July and be completed within the next three to four weeks However, there will be an immediate lull in some minor construction activity until the contractor secures equipment repairs. will have little or no impact on traffic on N/NE 45 th but will require lane closures on the intersecting streets. The work will require lane closures and parking restrictionson the above streets, This work require parking restrictions and one lane to be closed within a half block of the intersections with N/NE 45 th Street . May 31, 2007 N/NE 45th Street - Final Paving Work This Weekend!I-5 Freeway Ramp Closures Necessary Preparations are underway to complete final paving on N/NE 45th Street this weekend, weather permitting. Work will take place on two consecutive nights: from 7:00 PM Friday night, June 1st to Saturday morning, June 2nd; and also from 7:00 PM Saturday night, June 2nd to Sunday morning, June 3rd. This is the last segment of paving west of the I-5 Freeway. Following the final paving, miscellaneous clean-up, restoration, and pavement markings will take place the next 2-4 weeks. The following are the details of the night/weekend work: • I-5 Freeway SB off-ramp closed Friday 7pm to Saturday 9am, and Saturday 7pm to Sunday 9am. Detour to NE 50th. • I-5 Freeway SB on-ramp closed Saturday 7pm to Sunday 9am. Detour to NE 50th. • One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained at all times. • Parking will be prohibited during the paving work. During the final paving work, the roadway will be reconfigured to eliminate the center turn lane in most areas. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times through the use of flaggers. In order to keep traffic moving through the area, limited left turns and north/south traffic will be allowed during the paving work with the exception of at Stone Way N, Wallingford Ave N, and Meridian Ave N. Construction Update: May 16, 2007 N/ NE 45th Street – Update on Paving Work in Wallingford District All pavement grinding and some preliminary paving work was completed in Wallingford last week. The schedule of work for the next few weeks is as follows: N 45th (I-5 Freeway to Burke Ave N):
N 45th (Burke Ave N to N Midvale Place):
NOTE: All remaining work depends on three weekends of dry weather for paving. We will utilize the best weather on each weekend with the preference being for Friday night work with contingency on Saturday night. Cancellations and schedule changes due to weather will be distributed via e-mail and posted on the website by Friday morning. During the preliminary paving work, the roadway will be reconfigured to eliminate the center turn lane in most areas. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction at all times. In order to keep traffic moving through the area, left turns will be prohibited except at Stone Way N, Wallingford Ave N, and Meridian Ave N.
