Community Parking Program
Uptown Triangle

The Uptown Triangle (the name SDOT has given to the area bounded by Denny Way, Broad St, and Aurora Ave) is one of the first neighborhoods to work with SDOT to improve on-street parking management through the Community Parking Program.

In the Uptown Triangle, the parking assessment will largely be an effort to replace aging parking meters with pay stations that accept debit and credit cards in addition to coins. The parking improvement effort will also consider places where different parking regulations could help on-street parking spaces better serve surrounding destinations.

Get Involved in the Uptown Triangle Parking Assessment

Let us know where different time-limits or load zones could help you, and what other improvements you’d like to see to on-street parking.

Sign-Up: Click Here to sign up for regular email updates about Uptown Triangle parking activities.

Or use this form to share your comments about ways that different time-limits could improve how you or your visitors use on-street parking spaces. You can also let us know if you’d like to be added to the project email list.

Contact : Allison Schwartz, Uptown Triangle Parking Assessment Manager at 206.386.4654 or allison.schwartz@seattle.gov.

Attend: SDOT will be hosting a community meeting in early summer to get input and feedback from Uptown Triangle stakeholders. Please contact Allison Schwartz if you are interested in participating.

Other Ways that SDOT is Working in the Uptown Triangle

Adding Transit Service

  • To further improve transit service in the Uptown Triangle, Seattle is working with King County Metro to increase service hours on Route 8.

Bridging the Gap (BTG) – Your Transportation Levy Dollars at Work

  • Over nine years, BTG will reduce Seattle’s maintenance backlog by about half and invest in major transportation projects.
  • The recent repaving of Denny way and the increase in bus service on Route 8 are both projects completed with BTG funding.
  • Ongoing BTG efforts in the neighborhood include:
    • Remarking crosswalks
    • Replacing old, faded street signs
    • Planting street trees
    • Making sidewalk repairs

Tell us what you think!
