Westlake Avenue North Corridor Parking Management Plan

Updated November 16, 2007

Residential Parking Zone (RPZ) Permits Now Available

As described in the Parking Management Plan, residents on both the east and west sides of Westlake Avenue North are eligible to apply for RPZ permits. Click here for additional RPZ information.

Westlake Avenue North Parking Management Plan Finalized

The Westlake Avenue North Parking Workgroup and SDOT staff have met regularly since December 11, 2006 to jointly develop a parking plan for Westlake Avenue North. The Westlake Parking Management Plan resulting from this collaborative effort was presented at a public open house on July 11, 2007. The plan provides for about two-thirds of the parking spaces in the corridor to remain free and unrestricted. The remaining third will be charged at $0.75 per hour with a two-hour maximum stay, to provide parking turnover for clients of the businesses and restaurants along the corridor. Qualified residents on both the east and west sides of Westlake Avenue North will be eligible for a Residential Parking Permit that will allow free parking in any space for up to 72 hours.

Open House Summary Notes

Westlake Avenue North Parking Workgroup

At the conclusion of each of the three November 2006 stakeholder meetings, SDOT asked for community members interested in being part of a Parking Workgroup that would develop parking recommendations to present to the City Traffic Engineer. SDOT selected fifteen members, which was suggested as a target number for effective “hands-on” participation anticipated for the Workgroup.
