Keeping Seattle Moving Southeast Transportation Study (SETS)
Phase One
Phase One concluded in summer 2005 with the development of the Existing Conditions Report. The report identifies findings, issues and needs and is based on the review of over 20 city plans and community input. To focus resources efficiently, key themes were identified including:
-Balance multiple transportation modes (pedestrian, bicycle, transit, car and freight)
-Improve safety for diverse populations including elderly and children
-Invest in transportation projects and programs that support light rail and economic vitality
-Balance parking needs near light rail stations
-Increase use of and access to east-west travel corridors
Phase Two will take a street by street approach. We will look at projects from two perspectives: traffic circulation within and through the community and how the streets work as places.
