Street Use Street Improvement Permit
CITY OF SEATTLE STANDARD SPECIFICATION AND PLAN UPDATE
The newest version of the City of Seattle Standard Plans and Specifications (2011 Edition) is now available. As of June 1, 2011 all new applications for Street Improvement Permits will need to follow the 2011 City of Seattle Standard Plans and Specifications.

| DPD Construction Permit Intake Update:
In order to better align the DPD Construction Permit process with the SDOT SIP process, DPD will now allow Construction permit intake after SDOT has approved a 60% Complete SIP plan. |
Street Improvement Permitting (SIP) Process
During the past two years the SDOT Street Use Street Improvement Permitting (SIP) Section has implemented many changes in the processes and requirements for obtaining approval of Street Improvement Plans. Process improvements have spanned SIP Design Guidance, Formal Review, Correction Cycles, Plan Approval, Permit Issuance, Inspections, and Project Close-Out processes. Stormwater Code Update
On November 30, 2009 the City of Seattle revised Stormwater Code (SMC 22.800 – 22.808) went into effect. Information regarding the revised Stormwater Code can be found here.
If your project vested after November 30, 2009 your project must meet the requirements in the new code. Projects are generally vested at MUP Issuance or Construction Permit Intake; however, if you have questions regarding your vesting date, please contact your DPD Land Use planner.
If your project must meet the requirements of the new code, the following documents will be required during the Street Improvement Permitting review process:
