Urban Forestry Commission The City passed an ordinance in August 2009 establishing a 9-member Urban Forestry Commission to advise the Mayor and City Council on policies, plans, and regulations related to the protection, management, and conservation of trees in Seattle. More information about the individual positions can be found in the fact sheet and ordinance. The Mayor will appoint 4 positions subject to City Council confirmation, City Council will appoint 4 positions and the last position will be appointed by the eight appointed members.
