Also, the Longfellow Creek Trail also helps connects these projects to the Delridge community.
Longfellow Creek facts
- • Located in the Delridge Valley of southwest Seattle, on the Duwamish Peninsula.
- • Drains a 2,685 acre watershed into the Duwamish River.
- • Teeming fish runs are remembered by some long-time residents.
- • Chum and coho now return to the creek to spawn in the fall.
- • Community efforts to restore the creek include invasive weed removal, planting native trees & shrubs.
- • Public access, restoration of habitat, flooding control, and environmental education are included in The Longfellow Creek Watershed Action Plan.
