Longfellow Creek

Urban Creeks Legacy projects in the Longfellow Creek watershed include drainage and habitat improvements and neighborhood amenities at:

    1. Yancy Street
    2. West Seattle Golf Course
    3. Brandon Street
    4. Willow Street Wetland and Delridge Drainage Phase II
    5. Webster Street Detention Pond
Also, the Longfellow Creek Trail also helps connects these projects to the Delridge community.


Longfellow Creek facts
  • • Located in the Delridge Valley of southwest Seattle, on the Duwamish Peninsula.
  • • Drains a 2,685 acre watershed into the Duwamish River.
  • • Teeming fish runs are remembered by some long-time residents.
  • • Chum and coho now return to the creek to spawn in the fall.
  • • Community efforts to restore the creek include invasive weed removal, planting native trees & shrubs.
  • • Public access, restoration of habitat, flooding control, and environmental education are included in The Longfellow Creek Watershed Action Plan.
