Improvements for the golf course -- and for Longfellow Creek
With its West Seattle Golf Course projects, Seattle Public Utilities – along with the Department of Parks and Recreation and Seattle Golf – will address declining fish populations, erosion and flooding problems, and poor water quality in Longfellow Creek, while also improving the course's appearance and play for the community.

Between Southwest Genesee and Alaska streets, this includes work on the 12th and 13th holes, such as replacing the trash rack at Genesee; adding fish rearing ponds off the creek channel; and creating fish access past the WPA dam.
The second part of this project involves work along the tributary that joins Longfellow Creek between the 12th and 13th holes. It includes in-stream work between Southwest Brandon Street and the tributary and work to replace the culvert and provide a wider cart path and bridge over the creek near the third hole at Southwest Edmunds Street.
