Seattle Public Utilities provides grants and other funding opportunities to promote collaboration between the City and the community to help meet Seattle’s environmental and conservation goals.
Aquatic Habitat Matching Grants
Protect and improve Seattle's aquatic habitat along creeks and shorelines in Seattle. No applications are being accepted for 2012.
Food Recovery Infrastructure Grants
Assist Seattle food banks and meal programs with infrastructure investments to increase their food recovery capacity. No applications are being accepted for 2012.
School Recycling & Waste Reduction Grants
Implement or expand food waste composting, recycling and waste reduction programs in Seattle K-12 public and private schools. Applications accepted on a rolling basis in 2011-2012, while funds last.
Trees for Neighborhoods
Help Seattle residents plant trees in their yards and along their streets. Participants in the program receive free trees, watering bags and training on proper planting and care.
Waste Prevention & Recycling Matching Grants
Develop and implement community projects to increase waste prevention and recycling in Seattle. 2011 and 2012 Waste Prevention and Recycling Matching Grants will focus on increasing food waste composting and recycling in Seattle schools.
