Twilight Tours of Cedar Falls Historic Townsite

Historic Cedar Falls, Wash. — Invite your family, friends, and neighbors to take a twilight stroll under the evening lights of the historic townsite of Cedar Falls, the birthplace of Seattle City Light. Walk back in time, visiting restored houses, and discover the setting and stories of those who worked, lived and grew up in this unique town.

The tours feature discussions and programs with: Marian Arlin, Cedar Falls resident; Linda Carlson, author, Company Towns of the Pacific Northwest; and Seattle Public Utilities and Seattle City Light education staff and volunteers.

Please wear good walking shoes and carry a flashlight. Walk or take the shuttle van. Round trip walk is 1.5 miles.

    Who: All (some programs for age 10+), historical groups welcome.
    When:
    Friday and Saturday evenings, September 26 & 27. 6 to 8:30 p.m.
    Where:
    Meet at Cedar River Watershed Education Center, just east of North Bend (about 32 miles from downtown Seattle).
    To Register:
    Drop-in, no registration required. Cost: $5 (former residents are free). Groups please register ahead of time. For information call (206) 233-1515 or email:

    Directions:
    From I-90 going East Take Exit 32 (436th Ave.) Turn right at the end of the off-ramp. Follow the road (436th Ave. SE, Cedar Falls Rd. SE) for about 2.5 miles to Rattlesnake Lake. Continue with the Lake on your right side until you reach the Cedar River Watershed Education Center.
