Species Research & Monitoring - Aquatic & Riparian
Adult bull trout in the Cedar River, photographed by Gilbert Arias, Seattle Post Intelligencer.
Several HCP species of greatest concern, such as bull trout, pygmy whitefish, Chinook and coho salmon, and common loon, utilize aquatic habitats. A variety of research and monitoring studies are being implemented to address potential impacts to bull trout, pygmy whitefish, and common loon related to water level operations in Chester Morse Lake. Other research and monitoring projects address the recolonization of watershed streams above Landsburg by Chinook and coho salmon. Projects include:
- Bull Trout Spawning
- Bull Trout Distribution
- Bull Trout Juveniles
- Bull Trout Telemetry
- Bull Trout Redd Inundation
- Common Loons
- Salmon Recolonization
