Salmon in Schools

The Salmon in Schools program, established in 1991 as “Salmon in the Classroom,” was created as an educational project to encourage respect for water resources and promote responsible behavior towards the environment.

Program details
Students raise salmon in their classrooms, learn about water quality and habitat issues, and discover the interrelationships of species and conditions within a given watershed through field trips and hands-on experience.

Public and private schools in Seattle can participate.
