CADD Resources

The resources listed below are for CADD users in Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) and Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT), as well as consultants who are working on projects for SPU or SDOT.

We put together these supporting files and the CAD Manual in an effort to provide as much assistance as possible to the users. Since there are many ways to configure AutoCAD, we also tried to make the files as generic as possible. Should you have any problems or questions using these files or our CAD Standards in general, please contact the SPU CADD Manager, Dean Huber at 233-7805 or Dean.Huber@Seattle.gov.

On December 31, 2009 SPU and SDOT updated our CADD standards to reflect our recent upgrade to AutoDesk 2009 software products (AutoCAD 2009, Civil3D and AutoDesk Map).  We also converted to the NCS (National CAD Standard) Layer Standard Version 3. On May 13, 2011, these CADD Standards were formally approved by Peter Hahn, SDOT Director and Ray Hoffman, SPU director. All projects that started after December 31, 2009 must use this new CADD and software standard.  All projects that are currently in process, must convert to the new standards as soon as reasonably possible, but no later than December 31, 2009. After December 31, 2009 we will no longer support projects that are not using the new 2009 CADD and software standards.
