You can change your garbage can size online if you:
• are responsible for paying the bill and authorizing changes
• live in a single-family residence
• subscribe to 96 gallons or less of garbage service
• do not receive utility rate-assistance
• receive only curb or alley pick up
If you do not meet the criteria above, please call SPU Customer Service at (206) 684-3000 to change your garbage can size.
You will need your current billing statement to change your garbage can size online.
Until your new cans arrive:
• Please continue to use your current can(s).
• Please make your current can(s) visible and accessible for exchange.
• Allow 5 days for the delivery of your new can(s).
Bigger can size
Consider increasing your garbage can size if you frequently have extra garbage charges or more garbage than will fit in your current can(s).
• Increasing your can size will increase what you pay for garbage service.
Smaller can size
Consider decreasing your garbage can size if you only fill your can halfway.
• Decreasing your can size will decrease what you pay for garbage service.
