Where to Dispose of Household Hazardous Waste

You can dispose of hazardous household materials and products - such as fluorescent light bulbs and tubes, oil-based paint and cleaning products - at the region’s Household Hazardous Waste Facilities. There is no fee. For more information, call the Household Hazards Line at (206) 296-4692, 9 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, except holidays.

North Household Hazardous Waste Facility

Located at 12550 Stone Avenue North (directions below). Note that Household Hazardous Waste is not accepted at the North Recycling and Disposal station (located in the Fremont/Wallingford area at 1350 North 34th Street).

Open Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. No appointment is required. Closed on July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.

Operated by SPU. Commercial or business waste is not accepted, except for a pilot program for small businesses.

South Household Hazardous Waste Facility

Located at the South Recycling and Disposal Station (8105 Fifth Avenue South).

Open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. No appointments are necessary. Closed on July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.

Operated by SPU. Commercial or business waste is not accepted, except for a pilot program for small businesses.

Factoria Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Service

Located at 13800 SE 32nd St., Bellevue.
All King County residents can use this facility. See operating hours and accepted items and quantities.

Wastemobile

All King County residents can use the Wastemobile, which schedules events at different locations outside of Seattle in King County and suburban cities.
