The region’s Household Hazardous Waste Facilities accept a variety of chemicals, as well as batteries and fluorescent light bulbs and tubes.

Accepted at Household Hazardous Waste Facilities

  • Antifreeze and motor oil  
  • Drain openers  
  • Hobby chemicals  
  • Cleaning products  
  • Paint thinners  
  • Pool and spa supplies  
  • Batteries - alkaline, button, rechargeable and vehicle batteries  
  • Vehicle batteries  
  • Oil-based paint
  • Pesticides  
  • Propane tanks  
  • Wood preservatives  
  • Glues and adhesives  
  • Fluorescent light bulbs and tubes (also accepted at many retail stores)
  • Mercury-containing thermometers and thermostats

NOT Accepted at Household Hazardous Waste Facilities

 
  • Computers and electronics  
  • TVs and VCRs  
  • Ammunition  
  • Explosives
