Meet and Greet Elected Officials
Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Rainier Community Center
4600 38th Ave. South, 98118

This event will provide an opportunity to get to know your elected officials. Former Secretary of State Ralph Munro will moderate the event and former State Representative Velma Veloria is a co-sponsor. Many refugees and immigrants, people of color and indigenous people are disenfranchised, disconnected and isolated from the legislative and policy making process. There are numerous issues that our communities continue face in the Puget Sound Region. Our communities are concerned with such things as culturally competent services for our seniors, education, youth and gang prevention, health and mental health services, affordable housing and workforce development. Legislative representatives and elected officials need to hear from us! Raising our voices is critical to the legislative process.
